Easton Valley Families and Community,
We are so excited to share with you that Easton Valley Schools have been awarded the 21st Century Learning Center Grant for the next five year cycle. This grant will provide funding for before and after school programming for our students in kindergarten through sixth grade. All of these new opportunities will be available beginning in the 2021-2022 school year at NO COST TO FAMILIES!
Our grant was submitted in conjunction with the Andrew School District so that both districts can continue to work together to benefit all of our students. In total, we were awarded $776,860 to be used throughout the five year cycle. Our joint application was one of only seven 21st Century grants awarded to Iowa schools this year.
This grant award will result in Easton Valley students gaining access to high quality enrichment activities every day after school at no cost to their families for the next five years!!! These experiences might include trips to the YMCA, bowling, visiting local parks, inviting in presenters from places like the Mississippi River Museum or Jackson County Conservation, and MUCH MORE! In addition to the enrichment experiences, the grant provides funding for additional academic supports for our students outside the school day. Generally speaking, programming may be provided from 7:00 - 8:00 am each weekday morning and after school from 3:30 - 5:30 pm each day.
This grant will benefit our students and community in countless ways for years to come. We will be sharing more details and information in the near future. You can access more general information on 21st Century Learning Centers by clicking this link here.
Thank You,
Easton Valley Administration
