When talking about rules of the road, there’s a lot of guidelines to follow. No matter who you are, everyone must follow the same rules and regulations according to the state that you are in. In Iowa, driver and front seat passengers must be wearing seatbelts at all times. Motorcyclist must be wearing helmets at all times as well. Children under the age of 11 must be in a booster seat. This rule, however, changes depending on the height of the child. With snowy, rainy, and windy weather, be extra cautious when driving. Be sure to follow at a safe distance. One of the biggest distractions when driving is cell phones, please refrain from using your phones when driving to avoid any accidents.
If you are pulled over for being on your phone, you could be fined up to $45 for adults, and up to $70 for underage driver. Tickets for speeding could cost between $55 to $135 plus $5 per mile over 20 mph. This would mean, 5-10 miles per hour over the limit equals a $55 fine, 10-15 mph over the limit equals $105 fine , and 15-20 mph over the limit equals $120 fine. Speeding and other distractions could cause danger such as car crashes, injuries, and in some cases, death.
