Staff Spotlight: Mr. Bormann
By: Emma Beck & Justin Weispfenning
Mr. Bormann joined the Easton Valley teaching staff last 2022-23 school year as the high school social studies teacher. He was originally guided towards teaching by our own Mrs. Larson when searching for a major at the University of Iowa. He also mentions enjoying his high school experience and wanting to better the opportunities for others. Mr. Bormann wanted to teach at Easton Valley because he was a graduate from here, and he feels privileged to be able to be back in the community he grew up in.
He has multiple things he loves about teaching. One is having the opportunity of getting involved in students’ lives and guiding them through high school. He also enjoys making his own content and deciding what his work days look like on a daily basis. Mr. Bormann's favorite class to teach is American History. He says he has always enjoyed American History, so getting to teach it is a fun experience.
If you don’t see Mr. Bormann in the classroom he is more than likely working out, hanging with his friends or families, or playing any sort of sport. Although he is an amazing teacher, he is also a very successful basketball coach. Mr. Bormann is an assistant coach for the Boys' Varsity team that went 12-8 last season. He is also the head coach of the JV team.
