Elementary’s Mission March
Rylieahna Gillen
During the elementary's first River Hawk rally, they do what’s called a “Mission March.” Each class is to create a banner with a piece of paper on it stating their class mission. Two students carry their banner around the gym while someone else reads it aloud to everyone.
This is a way for every class to showcase and share their values they feel is important for them to have success throughout the school year. Each class's mission statement is student centered based on the Leader in Me principles. Which is a great way for students to learn and understand their leadership throughout the school year.
Mrs. Sterk’s first grade class banner read, “In our classroom we will follow the rules, be kind and respectful to everyone, and work together so we can learn a lot.”
