Sports Week!
Article by: Austin Thomson, Junior
The whistle has blown and the games have begun. Easton Valley sports have been going on for a few weeks now, with the Football and Volleyball teams starting the year off strong. The football team has played 2 games, with a third on the way. They started the season on a win, with the last game resulting in a few injured players. However, the team is optimistic about this week’s game against Springville.
For our volleyball team, Coach Larson had a few great words to share. The varsity girls have been great leaders in the gym with the younger players. They are helping the younger players understand the dynamics of the game. Coach Larson says, “I am very pleased with their dedication, not just since the season started but all the time! I am seeing growth at all levels!”
Along with team-oriented sports, the EV Cross Country team attended the Bellevue Night Meet on August 29th. Calen Fee, an 8th grader, placed first in the JH race with a time of 5 minutes and 21 seconds. Cole Venema, a Senior, placed 6th in the High School Boys category with a time of 14 minutes and 41 seconds.
